48 Hours in Dubai: Two Lazy Days.
One thing I didn’t expect to do during my 48 hours in Dubai was to be so lazy that I only went to the Dubai Mall. Well, I also did a hop-on-hop-off bus trip (where I didn’t hop off the bus at all). Of course, the jetlag and the heat are to blame.
My 48 hours in Dubai:
I got to Dubai at 5 am on Saturday morning, freshened up, had brekkie and went on the free shuttle to the Dubai Mall.
The hop-on-hop-off bus was ready to go when I got there. I drove around for a while, watching and getting a feel for the city. I was fully prepared to get off the bus at the Souks, but when push came to shove, I couldn’t move. Not only had I been falling asleep on the bus, but I was also hungry, thirsty and tired. When the tour was finished, I went back to the Dubai Mall. Just in time to get the free shuttle.
I had a very relaxing afternoon watching House Hunters International, and eating crisps in bed.
On Sunday, I had another relaxing day. I woke up at a lovely 4.30 am and then had an early breakfast at the hotel.
I went back to Dubai Mall and intended to go to the Souks. However, I got very sidetracked by the fountain and Burj Khalifa. Some other tourists very kindly took my photo for me.
I went to the Hummingbird Bakery for a cupcake and tea, because who doesn’t have tea when it’s 44 degrees?
After that I walked around the mall, looked in some shops (but didn’t buy), and then decided that my blister on my foot hurt, I felt really tired and I decided to go back to the Hotel.
So, that is how I spent 48 hours in Dubai. Luckily, I’m going to be living 3 hours (by plane) away from Dubai. So, I’ll be able to come back here whenever I feel like it!
