Feminist Friday: What is it?
In February, I decided I would start a new blog series called ‘Feminist Friday’. I’ve already mentioned this on my Twitter, but I thought I would start by introducing what it actually will look like and who will be involved.
What is Feminist Friday?
A chance for all of us to talk about feminists, or women, we look up to! Remember, we don’t all have to be feminists, we just need to support each other and empower one another! However, Feminist Friday will be a great way to talk about different women and how they have made an impact on feminism, women’s rights and women empowerment.
I would initially like to introduce, or talk about, a different feminist each week.
So, this, for example, could be, Emma Watson, Michelle Obama, Maya Angelou. I would like to introduce diverse feminists, so more voices can be heard!
Once I have this underway, I will start to involve other bloggers.
They could post about women they look up to, the women who inspire them and why, reasons why they are a feminist, their experiences as a feminist, or the changes they would like to see within the feminist movement. If they have a different topic they would like to write about, I’d be happy to let them write whatever they want!
I think it’d be great to get more voices heard, more ideas out there, and more diversity too.
I know this is a short post, but I would really like to hear your thoughts about this! If you would like to contribute, drop a comment below, or contact me here:
I’m really excited about this! x
