Five Summer Wardrobe Essentials

Spread the love

Although it is winter where I am at the moment, I will be spending two weeks in summer when I go to Japan! I am so excited and can’t wait to get a bit of Vitamin-D and some sun on my winter white skin (seriously, why do I lose my tan so quickly?). There are a few summer wardrobe essentials that I simply cannot live without – I’m not including sunglasses, as they are a must-have for the summertime!

White button up shirt:

These are really the most wearable item ever. I love how versatile they are. They don’t look to ‘worn out’ and they also have a really relaxed feel about them. I love pairing them with faded jean shorts and sandals. Steal one from your boyfriend to give it an even more relaxed feel. They are great for wearing on top of your togs (swimsuit) too!

Vintage Wrangler jean shorts and a white blouse.

Jean shorts:

I lived in jean shorts last summer. They never really go out of fashion, and the pair I bought most recently were high-waisted mom jean shorts. Super comfy. I’m not usually a ripped jeans kind of person, but I just really loved these ones. It was love at first sight! I also have a pair of vintage high-waisted Wrangler jean shorts that I absolutely love.

Sandals:

I have a lot of sandals in my wardrobe. It’s usually ‘too hot for shoes’ weather in the summertime, so sandals are the definite way to go. I don’t like wearing jandals to work, so I prefer to use sandals, as I find them dressier and less casual.

Jandals:

Some of you might be thinking ‘what the frick are jandals?’. Jandals are also known as flip-flops. These are the ultimate beach-wear.  I pretty much live in these in summer. Whether it’s going to the beach or going to the shops. These are a constant companion in my life.

Sun Dresses:

I have a jam-packed wardrobe, and a lot of these things in my wardrobe are dresses. Luckily, a lot of my clothes can ‘transfer’ over to other seasons, so my summer dresses are also used in the winter.  I love a cute dress in the summer. One of my favourites is on from Miss Patina. It has a really cute, summer print.

I am a big fan of wrapping blouses. Sun dresses are great! They feel so comfortable and feels great when the breeze comes by!

I just returned from a 2 weeks´ holiday in Greece and I loved wearing light dresses in the evening. For the beach I like wearing shorts and t-shirts or light blouses and flipflops. I also love espadrilles.

Is jandals a common name? I’ve never heard that before.

I think only New Zealanders call them jandals. When I travel I have to call them flip flops!!
