Why I love to travel solo
I love to travel solo! I’ve had a lot of people tell me that I’m brave. Brave because I travel solo, brave for taking the plunge and going places where I know no one.
Why I love to travel solo:
It’s fun! Discovering these new places is an adventure and it always makes me so excited to go and travel on my own!
I was nervous the first time I travelled solo. But I soon realised how much fun it is to go out into the world and have these amazing experiences. It’s amazing being able to go places you want to go to without being pressured by an itinerary or other people’s travel plans.
Don’t get me wrong, I love travelling with friends and family, but there’s something about just being on your own in a different country.
Travelling solo made me grow as a person. I choose to go to safe hostels where I can meet other like-minded travellers. Or I go to a good hotel or Airbnb. I always read the reviews carefully. If I feel unsafe anywhere I leave. My safety is much more important than losing some money on a hotel, Airbnb or hostel room.
Travelling solo opened my eyes up to the world, it helped me to learn who I am and also gain confidence and be ok with being on my own. And do you know what? Travelling solo can be as short as a weekend away or as long as months on end! Being able to travel on my own is so important to me, and I really don’t think I’d be who I am today if I didn’t have the opportunity to do so!
My favourite solo travel adventure was when I went to Edinburgh. I had a fab weekend there and went on some really great day trips to Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle. I also went to Loch Ness and Glen Coe. It was stunningly beautiful there. The landscape was beautiful, the architecture was too!
