6 Investment Pieces You Need In Your Wardrobe
As someone who loves buying clothes that last, I have a few investment pieces that last from season to season. Here are some investment pieces you need in your wardrobe!
Buying investment pieces means that you save in the long run – it’s important to buy clothes that last, both in style and in wear. Although I do like some trends that come out each year, I always find that my investment pieces always win out in the end.
Investment pieces you need in your wardrobe:
1) Classic black coat.
I’ve owned this coat since about 2017, and although it is starting to get a bit old and tatty (in the lining) it has lasted a long time and is still a piece I wear every winter. A classic black coat suits so many different looks – from work-wear to going out, to casual. It’s one of the pieces that just works with everything.
2) Black heeled Chelsea boots.
I’ve owned these for a long time, and I’ve found that they are another piece that lasts. I get these shoes resoled at the end of winter each year and take care of them, using leather protection. It’s really important to take care of your clothes and shoes to ensure they last a long time. This was the only photo I could find where you can see the boots clearly!
3) White button up.
I love these button ups. They are perfect with Jean shorts, jeans, skirts, and I wear them all year round. I prefer to buy cotton ones, as they are really cool for in the summer, but I have my eye on some silk ones too. I feel the silk ones will be perfect for work.
4) Black lace ups eg Keds or Converse.
I love Keds. I really got into them when I started dancing, and I have the cutest pair with a cat on them. I haven’t worn them in a while, but they are really comfortable and perfect for those Winter, Spring and Autumn months. I wear mine with dresses, skirts, shorts, jeans and trousers.
5) Leather jacket.
Leather jackets are always on trend, this is why I love them so much! I used to have a really nice dark purple colour one, but I took it to the op shop when I moved. Regret that to this day! However, I found a really nice dark grey leather bomber jacket at an op shop last year. I love wearing it with floral dresses, jeans, vintage dresses etc. it really works well with a lot of items! To make it an edgy look, I pair it with a pair of lace up boots!
6) Classic Blue Jeans.
I love dark blue skinny jeans, they are perfect for every occasion – they can be dressed up for going out, or dressed down for a casual look. They can also be worn for work, with a blazer and heels.
These photos are all from my archives – dating from 2015 to today!
