March Catchup – Where have I been?
This has been a crazy month. I’ve worked, I’ve flown long distances and I really don’t feel like I’ve had my feet on the ground long enough to really write a March catchup!
But here we are, another month over and another about to begin. As I said, it’s been a busy month and although I usually look at stats and how I’ve gone with social media, I don’t really feel like doing that this month.
This month I feel like I haven’t spent much time on my blog. A lot of my posts have been scheduled due to uni and work commitments.
So, what have I been up to this month?
I went to London for what was meant to be a short break but has ended up being about 3 weeks (by the time I get home). I’ve had an amazing time seeing my old friends and staying with my old landlady (who ended up becoming a really great friend of mine). And, most importantly, I caught up with my cousin, Ella (hi Ella).
I initially came to London just to go to a job fair – I was unsuccessful at the first one, so I’ve stayed for the second on in early April.
It was really nice mixing days out with relaxing days at home. I revisited a lot of places I used to go to and went to some new places too!
Brixton Market was a big favourite of mine. It is so diverse there and the Black Cultural Archives are really interesting. You can expect a post about my day there in a couple of weeks.
I also went to Little Venice, a really beautiful area of London. It’s surrounded by canals and canal boats and is just really pretty.
We didn’t hang around in Little Venice for long, as we decided to walk to Hyde Park and have croissants and tea in the park. It’s honestly so nice having a family member over this way! Usually, I travel solo, and sometimes it can be a little lonely, so it’s always lovely to see someone that you know!
I, of course, had to go to Dominique Ansel Bakery one day and went for a really long walk through Victoria. It’s such a nice area of London.
I used to visit this area a lot when I lived here, so it’s always really nice coming back and seeing my old ‘haunts’. London is my favourite city for a reason! It is so diverse, and I feel that no two areas are the same!
Other than my travels I feel like I didn’t do a huge amount!
I worked on my assignment a tiny amount and did a bit of teaching before coming to London.
I’m looking forward to getting home, really getting cracking on my assignment and doing more teaching!
I’m stressing hugely about money at the moment and I can’t wait to know where I’ll be teaching in July. But at the same time I’m feeling like staying in New Zealand (which is not my goal, so I’m ignoring that part of my brain!).
I’m off to The Netherlands for a week, so if anyone is there and wants to meet up let me know! I’m going to be in Amsterdam until the 31st and then Eindhoven until the 2nd. It’s just a short trip but I’m kind of looking forward to it (I’m staying in a hostel for three nights and I actually highly dislike/hate hostels now).
Anyway, I hope you all had an amazing month! Let me know what you got up to this month! Does anyone else hate hostels or is it just me?
