My 5 Favourite Red Dresses
I have 5 favourite red dresses that I absolutely love. Red is, by far, my most favourite colour in the world. It is a gorgeous, bright, bold colour. Red makes me feel strong and courageous and I love how it really reminds me of Gryffindor.
1) Floral Embellishment Dress
This is a gorgeous red dress that I bought from a Vintage shop called Smoove in Auckland. It caught my eye and I knew I had to buy it. It isn’t the sort of dress I can wear on a day to day basis, but I can definitely wear it to parties and events.
2) 1940s Dress
This 1940s dress is one that I bought on eBay. It is in excellent condition, and I believe it was handmade in the 1940s (judging by the zip and hook and eye). I don’t wear this one enough, but it is such a pretty dress that I should put it into my weekly rotation of dresses!
3) Mod Style Dress from TopShop
I bought this one at TopShop a couple of years ago. It was on sale for a good £15! It’s the perfect mod-style dress, and it’s one of my favourite styles and cuts! I wear this one mostly when I go out, as it is a little short for work!
4) Polka Dot 40s Style Dress.
I got this one on Lindy Bop back in 2015. It’s a beautiful silky feel material and has a really cute tie at the front. It’s a really beautiful fit and falls just below my knee. I wore this one for Christmas 2015, and have only worn it a couple of times since then. I really need to try to wear it more, but I haven’t because I get worried about it getting ruined, as it is supposed to be a dance dress. *you can buy the exact dress here.
5) 1950s Style Sundress.
I bought this one at a seamstress in Sydney, it’s based on a 1950s style pattern and is the perfect summer dress. It’s a beautiful bright red, and, although you can’t see the back, it has a really nice big bow at the back!
So, which one do you like the most? Do you have any colours you gravitate towards when you shop?
