Shopping Days: OOTD
I love shopping days. Probably too much, to be honest. But there’s something amazing about going to the shops and finding something new to wear. It’s even better when there’s a sale one!
I went to the Northwest Mall, in West Auckland, with my mum on Saturday. It was so nice to go out with her and just chat about everything. I can also trust my mum to give me an honest opinion about clothes that I try on.
One of my favourite shops to go to is Mirrou. It’s a cheap shop, and sometimes you need to rummage around to find something, but it really is worth a visit.
I ended up finding a pair of trousers for my Burma holiday (which is coming up in January). Now, when I say trousers, I don’t mean structured trousers, I mean floaty ones. They are made of a chiffon type material and have flowers on them. They are completely unlike anything I own, and anything I wear! But, it is good to stray outside of your comfort zone.
I will put a picture up of them when I actually wear them, which could be soon because it is starting to get quite warm here.
Another of my favourite shops to go to is Glassons. Whilst they are a bit pricier compared to Mirrou, it is a good place to go to to get the ‘staples’ of your wardrobe. Plus, their sale section is usually pretty good.
I bought a white linen button up shirt from there, also for Burma. It will keep me cool when I’m out and about. And another bonus is: it will protect me from the sun. I do love getting a bit of Vitamin D, but I only burn…then I go red and peel. So, although I get a slight tan, I am usually pretty white year round. Another reason why I cover my arms is that the sun in NZ is really strong (I heard we have one of the highest melanoma rates in the world).
Here’s a sneak peak of the clothes I bought:
Now, back to shopping.
Imagine my excitement when I found out that there was 50% off some Revlon makeup. I picked up some foundation for the budget price of $22. They were on special as they are discontinuing some of their makeup range. I also bought this really nice setting powder by Essence. The reason why I like it so much is that it is clear. I usually use a coloured (matched to my skin tone) powder, but it’s just so much easier buying the clear powder.
It also makes it easier for the change of seasons, as my skin tone changes in summer. That way I don’t need to buy two different colours!
Shopping Days OOTD:
Now, as for the actual OOTD, I decided to wear something that was perfect for a early-Spring day. It ended up being a really hot day, so the tights I didn’t really need to wear.
I decided to wear a skirt from Primark, that I bought last year and only wore once. I haven’t worn it much because I always felt that it was too short. However, I decided that I must wear it. In the end, it wasn’t too bad. I just have to make sure I don’t bend over…which isn’t something I usually do anyway.
The top I bought at H&M, it’s just a plain green blouse, which is really nice. I didn’t think it’d go well with the skirt, but it did! So that was a nice surprise. When I bought the blouse, I was only thinking of wearing it with black trousers and plain skirts/jeans. So, it was good finding another outfit!
The shoes I bought at Next – I love these shoes because they are patent. The only problem is is that they get really dusty! So I have to keep dusting them off.
What is your favourite outfit at the moment?
