Shwedagon Pagoda and Downtown Yangon
Yangon, Myanmar
As some of you may know I am currently in Yangon, Myanmar.
It’s been a delightful day. We visited Shwedagon Pagoda and were shown around by a tour guide. It is a very interesting place – a definite must see site here in Yangon.
The mix of colonial buildings here is interesting too. Although a lot of them are rundown, the few that are kept nicely are really quite beautiful.
We walked around downtown for a while and needed to have a break at the Strand Hotel. It was very hot, so we needed to have a drink. It was quite nice sitting in air conditioning.
We have pretty much caught taxis every where today as it’s been too hot to walk long distances.
I am loving Myanmar already!
