Wellness Night In: A Guide for You and Your Girl Gang

Spread the love

Taking some time to simply relax and take care of yourself is essential for your wellbeing. A day of relaxation will help you relieve stress and get in touch with your inner self. While some girls choose to spend a day at spa, others decide to organise their own spa day at home. Not only will this be more affordable, but you’ll be able to unwind in a familiar environment. This is also a great opportunity to invite your best friends and treat them to a relaxing wellness night. You’ll be able to relax together, bond and simply indulge yourselves.

Set the scene

For a truly relaxing wellness night, you need to create a soothing, peaceful spa-like ambiance. Your environment will greatly affect your mood, so it’s important that you introduce all those little comforts and treats. While the bedroom might be the most suitable option due to its relaxing aura, the living room can also be transformed into a home spa if it’s more spacious.

Most importantly, you need to get rid of technology – unplug your phone, turn off the TV and ban smartphones. Afterwards, decorate your spa with scented candles and incense sticks – lavender is great for relaxation. You should also dim out the lights and stock up on soft, plush pillows and towels. Finally, play some soothing tunes that will help you relax.

Get yourselves comfortable

A wellness night is made for comfort and relaxation, so make sure to slip into your cosiest clothes. Whether it’s a plush robe, soft pyjamas or baggy shirts, it’s important that you feel comfortable and that your skin can breathe. Fuzzy slippers are also a great way to get into the spa mood. If you don’t have enough clothes for all of you, ask your friends to bring theirs. In addition, if your friends need to bring something else, such as a candle or slippers, make sure to include a list along with their invites.

Serve healthy snacks and drinks

Since you’re organising a wellness night that focuses on relaxation, health and wellbeing, fast food and takeout should be banned. Instead, you should create a menu of healthy appetizers, drinks and possibly cocktails. From chicken finger sandwiches and beef salads to veggie snacks and fruity treats, there’s plenty of delicious and healthy options. When it comes to drinks, you can make detox smoothies, serve tea or surprise your friends with delicious cocktails. Just make sure to ask your friends if they have any specific dietary requirements that you should keep in mind.

Prepare gift beauty kits

If you want to do something special for your besties, why not prepare gift beauty kits? This will truly add to the entire experience and make your wellness night truly memorable. You can create gift kits of essential skincare products, such as cleansers, moisturisers, skin serums, etc. This way, you’ll keep it simple, but special, providing your friends with gifts that they truly need. If you want to personalise your gifts, you can create a special kit for each of your friends based on their needs.

Come up with different treatments

There’s a range of different spa treatments that you can try, but you may want to stick to just a few essential ones. For example, facials are a must, so make sure to include different facial masks that will detox your complexion and give your skin a fresh, youthful glow. Manicure and pedicure are also an important part of a home-spa experience, so stock up on nail polish, clippers, cotton balls or pads, hand creams, foot lotions, etc. Finally, you can also provide your girlfriends with relaxing massages, and all you need for this is a non-oily lotion. Afterwards, you and your friends can take turns and massage each other.

You may include other treatments, as well, but don’t choose too many because you’ll have to rush through all of them and you won’t have time to enjoy yourselves. In addition, organise treatment stations in different areas so that everyone can move around and get a treatment.

Round up with meditation

You can end your wellness night with soothing meditation that will enable each of you to focus on yourselves. Whether you decide to lead or play a guided meditation is completely up to you. Just make sure to play some meditative music and provide each of your friends with a comfortable cushion. Light up some additional candles and retreat to the meditation area where you can get in touch with your inner self.

Organising a wellness night is a great way to reconnect with your inner self and your friends, so make sure to start planning.

I really love the sound of this kind of night! I do meditation when I do my daily Yoga – it’s always something I’d encourage people to do xxx

Meditation is so relaxing. I try to meditate before going to sleep because it puts my brain into calm-mode for night time 😀 I haven’t done Yoga in a while though. I keep thinking I need to start it again! Thank you for your comment!

I love the thought of turning your home into a spa! I wanted to do this for ages. There’s something so therapeutic and holistic about gathering the girls (or guys) around for a pure pampering sess minus phones and other distractions! Great post. Claire x x x
